RVmagnetics develops patented MicroWire® sensors for structural health monitoring of defence and space composites. Just 8–70 µm thick, the glass-coated wires can be embedded during manufacturing to measure temperature, stress, vibration and position without compromising structural integrity. MicroWire performance has been validated at the UK National Physical Laboratory under cryogenic conditions and ionising radiation. Applications include aircraft, UAVs, naval vessels and space structures. RVmagnetics offers a Defence & Space Demonstration Kit for in-house testing.
