PROTECT ARTS Co., Ltd. is a Japanese manufacturer of CBRNE filtration and ventilation systems for shelters and protective refuges. We are part of the Yabushita Group, a Japanese air-conditioning and thermal equipment group with a leading domestic share in HVAC and refrigeration components.
Most shelter ventilation equipment available in Japan has historically been imported. Working with the Graduate School of Engineering at Nagoya University, we developed AT Barrier - the first shelter ventilation system to be fully engineered and manufactured in Japan - so that protective facilities can be built and maintained on a stable, domestic supply chain.
AT Barrier - CBRNE filtration and ventilation
AT Barrier draws outside air through a three-stage filter train - a pre-filter, a HEPA filter and a high-performance chemical filter - and supplies clean, positively pressurised air to the protected space. It shields occupants from radioactive particles and chemical and biological agents, as well as from everyday airborne hazards such as viruses, bacteria, smoke and PM2.5.
A patented airflow structure (Japanese Patent No. 7774364) protects the filter media during normal operation, so that filtration performance is preserved for the moment it is actually needed.
